Sydney Vital would like to invite you to attend Simultaneous PET/MR for imaging patho-physiology:the MGH experience, a seminar by Prof Georges El Fakhri.

Live-streaming Webcast will also be available via (Meeting ID: 167-589-565)

*Please note that if you intend to join the seminar via Webcast, we would appreciate if you could register online first by selecting the ‘Webcast’ ticket type.

In this seminar, recent developments in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) /Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) will be explored.

The challenges of simultaneous imaging both from the instrumentation side (nuclear science of detectors) and processing side will be detailed, and the opportunities afforded by synergies of the two modalities will be discussed.

The unique sensitivity of PET (picomolar) and its quantitative capabilities can be associated with the superb spatial and temporal resolution of MR as well as its excellent soft tissue contrast to provide an ideal imaging modality for many cancers as well as cardiac and brain explorations.
